Correlation of salivary glucose level with blood glucose level in diabetes mellitus: a cross sectional study

Background: There is alarming rise in number of people with diabetes mellitus over these years. Type 2 the fifth most common condition and sixth leading cause mortality amongst elderly. Finding a relationship between blood glucose level its concentration other body fluids such as saliva can help developing an on invasive method for sugar assessment replacing venous sampling. Objective this study was to see correlation fasting salivary levels. Methods: This cross sectional included 200 randomly selected subjects, which 100 were known constituted test group normal healthy age- sex-matched individuals controls. Fasting levels measured by using oxidase peroxidase methods. Data recorded preforma Microsoft excel sheet. Pearson's coefficient applied find out any significant Results: Results obtained statistical calculation plotted respect scatter bar diagram done p<0.05 considered (with 95% CI). Conclusions: A positive exists both groups.
